Shoutout to Mrs. Halverson and Mrs. Allen for an awesome job. Their teamwork and collaboration in the classroom were great to see, and the student engagement that followed was even better. Nothing beats two educators working together to best support and serve our students. 🐯 #IBTigerPride

IBES is excited to welcome families on February 12th for a fun and engaging evening at our school!
Join us for Parent-Teacher Conferences, our Book Fair, and a Student Art Show, all happening in one night.
Parents must have a Parent-Teacher Conference scheduled in advance with their child’s teacher. While at school for your student's conference, families will also be able to view student artwork from kindergarten through 5th grade in the elementary school commons and shop the Book Fair in the elementary library, all in one night!
We look forward to celebrating our students’ learning and creativity with you!
📚🎨 Please see the flyer for additional details.

In Session Tomorrow: 1/26/26
Dear Illini Bluffs Families,
An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for tomorrow. It will be cold, but not quite as cold as Friday. At this time, we are planning to have school as scheduled, unless conditions change due to transportation concerns or building-related issues.
Student and staff safety remains our top priority, and we have taken several proactive steps in preparation for the cold:
- I will be at school beginning at 5:00 AM, walking through the halls and classrooms to ensure our heating systems are on and functioning properly across all buildings.
- Our bus fleet is warming up the buses extra early in the morning before heading out on their regular routes, helping ensure safe operation and a warm ride for students.
- Our transportation department is fully staffed, and we operate propane buses, which are more reliable in extreme cold conditions.
- To be cautious, we will not be using our electric buses tomorrow.
- If an unexpected issue arises on a route, we have backup buses and drivers available to respond.
We ask families to bundle students appropriately and, if possible, have students remain inside your home or vehicle until the bus arrives to minimize exposure to the cold.
As always, parents and guardians have the final say regarding attendance. If you do not feel comfortable sending your child to school due to the extreme cold, please contact your child’s school office to report the absence.
Should something change overnight or early in the morning, families will be notified via all-call, text, and email by 6:30 AM, and updates will also be posted on our district website and Facebook page and shared with local news media outlets.
Thank you,
- Dimitri Almasi, Superintendent
