The 2nd grade had the best time at the Miller Park Zoo! They learned about three different animals in an education course and explored all the different parts of the zoo on the field trip. #ibtigerpride

Great season, Argos Robotics! Unfortunately, the team’s quest to continue on to Einstein in the World Competition has come to an end. However, the team won an incredible award at the competition: the 2025 Quality Award for the Archimedes Field. #ibtigerpride
Today was a buzzing success at Illini Bluffs Elementary as our students celebrated Earth Day a little early — all made possible by the generous support of our PTO! 💛
Our day was packed with hands-on learning and fun: 🍯 Students learned all about honey bees, explored workwear and tools used in beekeeping, and even got to see a full-size bee hive from Tippy Creek! Each student left with a sweet treat — a honey stick to enjoy!
🎨 We also welcomed a talented local artist who taught our students how paper is made. After the demonstration, students used the handmade paper to create beautiful cards of their own!
A huge thank you to our PTO, community partners, and staff for helping our students celebrate our planet in such a fun and meaningful way! 🌍💚
The 3rd grade successfully completed their Adopt a Peep Responsibility project this week. This engaging initiative encouraged students to care for their pet peep by ensuring they were brought to and from school, reading to them each evening, and documenting daily adventures in their journals. Each day, students were rewarded with bunny money for showcasing responsibility in the classroom. At the end of the week, they had the opportunity to use their bunny money to buy items from the Hop Shop!

Today, the fifth grade had a glow day to help the students study poetry. Using highlighters and black lights, the students looked at poems for figurative language, theme, structure, and speaker. #ibtigerpride
Congrats to our Bass Team as they won the Canton and Limestone Tourneys. Canton’s tournament with 14lbs and Limestone’s tournament with 18.13lbs.
Today, our fifth graders took an exciting step toward their future as they learned all about what to expect in middle school! They learned the many ways they’ll gain independence, and about the various classes offered. Students also went on a tour of the middle school, helping them visualize their new environment and ease any nerves about the transition. It was a fantastic experience to help our students feel confident and prepared for the next chapter of their educational journey!

The Timber Chapter of the National Honor Society would like to thank everyone who participated in our annual Spring Blood Drive with the American Red Cross last Thursday. We had 36 participants, and thanks to their efforts, we collected 29 units of blood.
Twelve IBHS students visited Union Operators Engineers Local 649 for a hands-on field trip! They explored careers in the trades and even got to operate heavy machinery. 👷♂️🚜 Huge thanks to Local 649 for the opportunity! #TigerPride #CTE #FutureOperators
