Fifth graders in Mr. Graham's science classes are exploring the properties of matter. Today, they focused on measuring volume in various ways, and had so much fun doing it. They practiced calculating the volume of rectangular prisms using mathematical formulas. Additionally, they learned how to determine the volume of liquids and irregularly shaped solids by using the water displacement method. This hands-on activity helped them understand how different objects occupy space.

3rd grade enjoyed Peoria County Farm Bureau ag in the classroom today, with special bunny visitors!

Congratulations to our terrific tiger winners this week! We are so proud of all of our terrific tigers!

Today at Illini Bluffs Elementary, our Tigers focused on two powerful character traits: Ownership and Responsibility!
We talked about what it means to:
✔️ Own our choices
✔️ Take responsibility for our actions
✔️ Fix mistakes instead of making excuses
✔️ Be leaders in our classrooms, hallways, bus, at home and our community!!
Students participated in engaging discussions and activities that helped them understand these very two important tiger traits! We are so proud of all of our students!

Good luck to Barret Speck as he heads down to the IHSA State Finals for wrestling! Barret's first match is tomorrow at approximately 11:00am. #ibtigerpride

Using handmade clinometers, Mrs. Strantz's and Ms. Matzke's Informal Geometry class applied their knowledge of right triangle trigonometry to indirectly find the height of our school greenhouse. We love to see classroom concepts reaching new heights!

Ms. Harmon's Animal Science class has been learning about different cuts of meat, so today they had to cook and sample some!

Mr. Stremmel's Physics class did a lab today to investigate standing waves by using a slinky! Students enjoyed the hands-on experiment!

As we plan for the 2026-2027 school year, the high school will be hosting Freshman Orientation on March 4th at 6:00 PM in the Illini Bluffs High School theater for current 8th grade students. If you have any questions, please reach out to the high school office or the middle school office.

With their win tonight, the IBHS girls basketball team advanced to the Regional Championship game on Friday night at 6:00PM in Elmwood! Great job tonight, and good luck on Friday! #ibtigerpride
