Mrs. McCormick's social studies students' research and design skills are on display in honor of Black History Month and Women's History Month. 7th-grade students researched one influential figure and designed a poster honoring them. Great job, everyone! #ibtigerpride
The IBES PTO is hosting the annual Love of Reading Night with a Luau theme this year on Tuesday, February 28th, from 5:30-7 PM at IBES. The best part is there will not only be snacks and crafts but there will also be a chance to win prizes. Every student in attendance will receive a free book! A big thank you to everyone who came out to welcome Paul, Hunter, Jackson, and Ian back from the IHSA State Wrestling Tournament! We are so proud of their accomplishments and want to thank Coach O'Connor and all our wrestling team for everything they do! A special thank you to Timber-Hollis for bringing our state wrestlers home in style!
Paul Ishikawa is the undefeated IHSA 1A 145 lb State Champion!! Congratulations to Hunter Robbins, he is the IHSA 1A 106 lb Runner-Up! Tomorrow, Sunday, February 19th, we will have a fire-truck procession starting at the American Legion to the High School at 2:45 PM. Following the procession, we will have a reception at 3:00 PM for all our state wrestlers in the theater. Congratulations again to Paul, Hunter, Ian, and Jackson, and go Tigers!
Hunter and Paul are off to the State Championship and Jackson is still working his way through wrestle backs! Ian suffered a tough lost, but had a great season. So proud of all our wrestlers! #ibtigerpride

Could YOU make your own clothes? The students in our Grandma Skills Community Hour can! Grandma Skills jumped right into making their own clothes with a crash course in sewing recently. After completing fabric requests for their projects, students learned the basic parts and functions of a sewing machine. They also learned how to follow the directions of a basic sewing pattern, and spent the morning actually making clothes they can wear - skills that will last a lifetime!
It brings me great pleasure to announce that tonight our Cheer team placed 3rd in the state. To celebrate their accomplishment, we will be having a reception starting at 2 P.M. tomorrow in the Middle School gym. Make sure to wear orange and black! #ibtigerpride #tigersruntogether

IBES Book Fair is this week! Community and family members are invited to shop after school on Wednesday from 3:30-5:30 and Thursday from 2:30-7:30.

Hunter, Ian, Paul, and Jackson are IHSA State bound! Paul won the 145lb sectional, Hunter won the 106lb sectional, Jackson won the 135lb sectional, and Ian placed 2nd at 132lb. Great job by all our wrestlers, coach O'Connor, and wrestling staff! State will be this Thursday-Saturday, February 16-18, in Champaign. #ibtigerpride
