Parents,
We are making a minor change to the school calendar. Monday, March 8th was a student attendance day. It will now be a Remote Learning Planning Day. There will be no student attendance and no remote learning on Monday, March 8th. Our staff will use that time to identify students that are struggling, students that are behind, students that would benefit from after-school programs, and students that would benefit from summer school. We want to do everything possible to help our students succeed under these unusual circumstances.
As a reminder, Friday, March 5th is a School Improvement Day with a half-day of attendance (1130am dismissal for elementary and 1140am for middle and high school).
We wanted to make you aware of the change to the school calendar as soon as possible so that you can make appropriate plans.
Thank you for your continued support.

Kindergarten Round-Up - SAVE THE DATE!
Saturday, March 13th
Due to COVID-19, we are only scheduling 6 families per hour in order to give us time to clean in between and maintain social distancing.
A sign-up link will be made available on our website and Facebook page on Tuesday, February 16th.
If your child will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2021, they are eligible for Kindergarten. Our Kindergarten teachers will be screening your child on roundup day, this process will take approximately 20-30 minutes.

REMINDER: Picture retakes, and pictures for remote learners, will take place on Friday, January 29, 2021. For more information visit the school website. A reminder email with information was sent to all parents/students this afternoon. #ibtigerpride

REMINDER: IBHS will return to in-person learning on Monday, January 25, 2021. We will continue to follow COVID precautions/restrictions in an effort to keep students safe and stay open to in-person learning for as long as possible. #ibtigerpride

IB families,
The memorial wall for Mrs. Huene will remain up this week to afford students the opportunity to contribute memorial items. All items will be given to the Huene family at the end of the week. Mrs. Jeannie Blane, retired elementary principal from Brimfield, will continue to serve as interim elementary principal for the remainder of second semester.
Mrs. Huene remains close to our hearts and minds as we prepare ourselves to continue the work she began in a way that will prove worthy of honoring her memory. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns that you have.
Sincerely,
Dr. Roger Alvey
Superintendent

Happy New Year!
We look forward to getting back to school on Wednesday, January 6th with in-person learning! We will still be offering a remote instruction option for those that desire to do so, just as we did first semester. If you haven’t already, please let your child’s school office know that they will be remote learning.
Also, please be sure to let your child's school office know if your child(ren) are in quarantine (contact with a positive COVID19 case) or have tested positive for COVID19. We want to be sure they receive any instructional materials they might need.
Finally, I wanted to remind you of the importance of self-certification prior to students returning to school. Self-certification needs to be done daily via TeacherEase. We will continue to conduct temperature screenings at the main entrances. All other COVID19 mitigation measures employed first semester will continue second semester. Please remember keep students home when they have any symptoms.
We are excited to start 2021 with all of you! See everyone on Wednesday!
Dr. Roger Alvey
Superintendent

Angel Tree Drive Thank You
The IB Christmas Hope organization and Illini Bluffs District 327 would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in our Angel Tree Gift Card Drive for 2020.
In this year in which the world has been turned upside down and lives have been negatively impacted in so many ways, kindness matters more than ever. Thank you for joining us in our effort to spread some
much needed kindness and joy to our students in need this holiday season.
Your generosity was overwhelming, and we were able to provide a wrapped gift, a gift card, and candy to every student on our list.
Wishing you the happiest of holidays and many blessings in the New Year!

IBES is starting our community fundraiser on Monday, Nov. 23rd. Here is how families can get involved to help Operation Christmas Hope.
We will launch our 3-Way race with a Hat Day for the entire school on Nov. 23rd. All students can wear a hat of their choice for the entire day by giving a donation to the community Christmas basket fund of $1. Students who want to participate can give their money to their homeroom teacher on or before Nov. 23rd.
Pre-K to 2nd grade will be doing a collection drive for gelatin and pudding mixes. Collection boxes will be outside each classroom door from Nov. 23rd to Dec. 4th for students to drop off their donations.
3rd-5th grade students will have a coin collection drive and will compete by grade level to see who can raise the most money. A change for this year will be that coin collection containers will be in each 3rd-5th grade homeroom classroom rather than in one grade level bucket to keep students safe. Collection dates will be Nov. 23rd to Dec. 4th. On December 4th all the money will be counted and the grade level that collects the most will get a soda as prize for being the winner.

It’s that time of year when IB Christmas Hope is doing their annual canned food drive. Today, Team 4 unloaded food from their recent donations
and continued writing thank you letters to businesses that have donated to our team. Please help and donate food/money to IB.
