The MS Scholastic Bowl Meet at Farmington is cancelled this afternoon.

At roughly 4:30 this afternoon, during scheduled maintenance, the Illini Bluffs administration was made aware of a concern regarding the water quality in our schools. As a result, the administrative team met with a team of individuals who worked collectively to address the issue. The team also received guidance from the Department of Health, medical professionals, and poison control to ensure our students, staff, and faculty were safe. During our discussions we also contacted Illinois American Water and were assured the water in the community was not affected. Student and staff safety is our top priority. A qualified agency will be conducting testing throughout the schools on Thursday, March 5, to ensure safe and useable water. A decision regarding after school activities Thursday, as well as school on Friday, will be made based on the results of water testing. School is cancelled tomorrow, Thursday, March 5th. There will be no school, no before/after care, and no activities before or during normal school hours. We will make decisions regarding Thursday’s after-school activities tomorrow afternoon. This evening, after school hours and during scheduled maintenance, the school began experiencing a water issue. We hope to resolve the issue as soon as possible. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

Congrats to our MS Wrestlers qualifying for sectionals next week. Finishing 1st today are Evan Newlun, Jackson Carroll,Hunter Robbins, & Ian O’Connor Other qualifiers are Carson Overton, Adrian Love, Ayden Broyles, Easton Snyder and Mason Brock

At the IHSA 1A State Wrestling Tournament in Champaign Paul Ishakawa (113) and Cam Clark (120) won their matches and will wrestle tomorrow at 9 am. If they win they will move into the medal rounds. Good Luck Paul and Cam!

Boys Basketball Senior Night is tonight at IBHS. JV tip-off at 6pm, senior festivities at 7pm and varsity tip-off at 7:30pm.

IBES 5th grade students took a field trip today to the Lincoln Museum in Springfield.

On Monday, Mrs. Herrmann's second graders took a trip to the HS library to read with Ms. Gresham's U.S. Issues seniors. Last semester, these seniors wrote CF Industries grant proposals, and one of the proposals that was funded was an environmental bookmobile for the elementary school. This was a great opportunity to take advantage of our K-12 campus; Illini Bluffs is lucky to be able to experience learning together, across grade levels.

IBHS Cheerleaders are working with IBES students to prepare for Little Cheerleader night on Saturday Feb. 15th at 5pm.
