Held during the third full week of October each year, National School Bus Safety Week is an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of school bus safety. This week, our bus drivers have been doing school bus fire drills with our kids and explaining the dangers outside the school bus. The school bus is one of the safest modes of transportation, but illegal school bus passing poses a significant threat to children and their caretakers. Our district wants to remind drivers to use care around school buses and to always watch for children.

We also want to take this week to highlight the fantastic drivers of Illini Bluffs, who are an integral part of our educational system. Our district operates 14 bus routes that travel tens of thousands of miles each school year.

Thanks for working together to keep our students and community safe!
