IBHS AASA

The Community Hour leadership team has been invited to present at the AASA’s Innovative Districts Empowering All Learners (IDEAL) Virtual Summit.

On October 5, 2021, Erin Coulter (librarian/ELA), Tyler Hallstrom (Art), Teresa Gresham (ELA), and Keith Brown (Principal), will share our Community Hour story – how teachers and students at IBHS are collaborating in amazing ways to challenge the status quo in secondary education. The team is excited to join innovative education leaders throughout the country to highlight our Community Hour initiative, our mini-session learning experiences, and our ongoing commitment to reimagining high school education.

The ASASA is the national school superintendents association and is committed to innovation in education. “As learning has taken a turn to a more personalized, individualized nature, we must make the necessary adjustments to continue to provide the most dynamic, learning environments for the whole learner. AASA’s Learning 2025: Student-Centered, Equity-Focused Education is an initiative that calls us to redesign our public schools. It calls for a holistic design with schools meeting the needs of the whole learner. The IDEAL Cohort seeks to provide a deeper understanding of what learners need to create the most dynamic learning environment possible. Members of the AASA IDEAL Cohort work collaboratively to research, inspire, empower, and amplify educators’ work to realize this new vision for empowering all learners.” (aasa.org/IDEAL.aspx)

We are grateful for the opportunity to highlight the ongoing work of our school community. Teachers, students, and all IBHS stakeholders are commended for their efforts.
