Community Hour

Last year we asked our high school students what they WANTED to learn. Teachers analyzed the results, created classes based on student suggestions, and Community Hour was born. Our second year of Community Hour courses began today (click here to read this year's course booklet!), and we're off to a great start!

Mrs. Bricker's 80s Pop. Culture class listened to Bon Jovi as they created an 80s pop culture timeline, and Mr. Waters's students toured IB's new workout area where they'll spend 1st quarter working toward personalized fitness goals. Ms. Gresham's Mindful Thrifting class discussed reducing waste through responsible thrifting and "shopped" a collection of Ms. Gresham's own thrift store finds to see which group could create the most stylish and affordable outfit, and Mrs. Patrick's Dungeons and Dragons class explored a world of Skeleton Kings and Hit Points. Mr. Wirth's class jumped on stage to begin learning the art of Improv, and Ms. Courtney's American Sign Language students began learning the ASL alphabet and how to sign their names.
