At its July 7 meeting, the Illini Bluffs CUSD #327 Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of Mr. Josiah Martin as the next high school principal.
Josiah has been a valued member of the Illini Bluffs team for the past three years, currently serving as the 8th-grade math teacher and volunteer coach at the middle school. Prior to joining Illini Bluffs, he taught 8th-grade math in the Canton school district for eight years and taught math for two years at Spring Valley Hall High School.
He holds three Master’s degrees—in Principal Preparation, Curriculum and Instruction, and Educational Technology, and earned his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Augustana College. He also serves on the district’s AI Committee and the Middle School Leadership Team.
Josiah lives in Canton with his wife, Christina, and their two children.
In accepting the position, Josiah wrote, “It will be a great honor to serve Illini Bluffs High School. I have enjoyed working in the district for the last three years and look forward to having the opportunity to have an even bigger impact on students' lives. I will lead with enthusiasm and positivity as we all work together to do what is best for our students.”
