Farm to table in the classroom? Yes! During Community Hour today, the Mother Nature class enjoyed the fruits of their labors - fresh salad greens! Grown hydroponically, students harvested what they wanted to eat and added toppings. As they enjoyed their tiny salads, students discussed the many benefits of not only growing their own food, but also shopping locally at family farms.

Bakeshop Community Hour is focused on student lead learning. The students completed a two-day lesson in French Macarons taught by IB senior, Hannah Baer, who is hopeful to own and operate her own bakery in the future. When Hannah was asked about her experience leading the class for two days, she responded with: “I love the smile on others faces and their reaction when they taste the macarons. I feel good that I am making people happy and I enjoy helping people; especially guiding my peers through this difficult baking process.” The Bakeshop students did very well and were quite successful for their first time making French Macarons! Students and staff throughout the high school were able to enjoy their delicious little cookies.
