Seniors and Parents/Guardians,

I know the COVID-19 stay-at-home order and school shutdown has created a great deal of stress, disappointments, and uncertainty. This is an unprecedented time for all of us. Our goal throughout the last months has been to celebrate our graduates while adhering to strict public health guidelines implemented by the CDC, ISBE, and public health organizations.  Student safety will continue to be our top priority.

Saturday evening, May 2, 2020, education administrators throughout the state of Illinois received new guidance from ISBE regarding graduation ceremonies. While the new graduation guidance put forth by State Superintendent of Education Dr. Carmen I. Ayala allows for more flexibility for schools, there are still a significant amount of restrictions in place and a great deal of liability for school leaders to consider. However, we are excited to be able to update our plans to allow for diploma pick-up picture opportunities for graduates and their families.  To review the plan, follow this link:  IBHS Updated Graduation Plans - 5/3/2020

I appreciate your patience and support as we navigate new directives.
